Maybe you have already tried many times to resolve your emotional pain and uncomfortable feelings. By changing jobs, starting a new relationship, changing your lifestyle, or trying to become a “better version of yourself.” It worked for a while, but then the emotional pain came back. Again. And again it stopped or paralyzed you.

Maybe you ask yourself how to get rid of those feelings once and for all. But the truth is, you cannot. Or at least not in the way we usually think about it.

The key to real freedom and inner peace lies precisely in the feelings we try not to have, not to feel, to push away, or to cover up.

Maybe that sounds absurd to you. Why should I feel my emotional pain when I want it to disappear? But pain, as we usually think about it, is only the surface. A sharp signal we want to avoid.

A true, deep experience of uncomfortable feelings, the kind that is integrated in the body, does not create more suffering. Quite the opposite. In this experience, relief, calm, and a sense of wholeness are born.

It is similar to when you want to get into icy water. If you enter it toe first, slowly and cautiously, the cold keeps stinging you again and again, and the suffering only lasts longer. Every step is a little extra torment. But if you step in consciously and all at once, the first shock is intense, but it passes quickly and the body naturally begins to adapt and relax.

A conscious encounter with painful emotions and uncomfortable feelings really does hurt, but only for a moment. And right after that moment, relief, calm, peace, presence, and wholeness open up. That is when emotional pain truly eases. Not by trying to get rid of it, but by allowing it to move through deeply.

Yes, it is uncomfortable and often intense. But compared with living with unprocessed emotional pain and the constant effort to avoid it, suppress it, run from it, only for it to return and hurt again, it is nothing.

When we avoid uncomfortable feelings and they keep coming back, we end up in a vicious circle, which most people would call suffering.

But after a true experience comes silence. Calm. Relief. An empty head. An open heart. Presence. Wholeness.
